"Into the Depths" represents water and also alcohol. The subject has decided at the end of "Common Ground" to forge his own reality within his subconscious, giving him the power of a god. His consciousness is the ocean around him. He must drown himself within the ocean to become part of it. He becomes the ocean and enjoys the power that it holds, but at the end of the song he becomes aware that he is trapped inside the same ocean, unable to go beyond himself.
